Assembly
Professional Assembly Service
When you buy a new bike, proper tuning directly determines its performance, safety, and durability. Our team of specialized mechanics carries out a complete preparation before shipping, so your bike arrives ready to ride from the very first moment.
What the service includes
Inspection and quality control
We check every component as we unbox the bike, documenting any incident caused during transport before starting assembly.
Drivetrain adjustment
We check the derailleur hanger alignment and tune the full groupset to ensure precise, quiet shifting across all gears.
Brake setup
We align calipers, center rotors, and adjust the pads. On hydraulic systems, we bleed the brakes when needed to ensure a consistent, progressive response.
Torque check
We check the torque on cranks, stem, handlebar, seatpost, wheels, and other structural parts using a torque wrench, following the manufacturer's specifications.
Headset and suspension setup
We check the headset play and set preload, rebound, and compression on the suspension based on the rider's weight.
Electronic and eBike systems
On Di2, AXS, or similar groups, we sync the system, update firmware, and adjust shift limits. On e-bikes, we configure the display and check the battery status.
How your bike arrives
To protect it during shipping, all bikes are sent with the following parts unmounted: handlebar, saddle, seatpost, front wheel, and pedals. The rest of the bike arrives fully assembled.
With the Assembly Service, we handle the full assembly and tuning before shipping, so all you need to do is unbox it.
Without the Assembly Service
If you choose not to add it, your bike will be shipped exactly as we receive it from the manufacturer, without any additional tuning on our part. This means that, beyond the parts listed above being unmounted, your bike may arrive with:
- Brakes not adjusted or bled (especially on hydraulic systems)
- Loose levers, forks, or headset bearings
- An uncalibrated drivetrain and gears
- Bolts not torqued to the manufacturer's specifications
- A wheel that isn't perfectly centered
- On e-bikes or electronic groups (Di2, AXS), outdated firmware and unadjusted shift limits
This isn't a product defect, it's simply the natural state in which the manufacturer ships the bike to us for preparation, preparation that isn't carried out without the Assembly Service.
A bike that hasn't been properly set up can be dangerous to ride: poorly bled brakes, a loose headset, or an uncalibrated drivetrain can cause mechanical failure, loss of control, or accidents. We strongly recommend having the final assembly done by a specialized mechanic, especially for precision or electronic components, particularly if you don't have the technical knowledge to do it yourself. Some brands publish technical documentation on their official websites that can serve as a reference.
IBK is not liable for any material, personal, or third-party damage resulting from:
- Incorrect assembly or adjustment carried out by the customer or an unauthorized third party
- Using the bike without having carried out the necessary tuning
- Unauthorized modifications or work on safety-related components (brakes, steering, drivetrain)
Also keep in mind that improper handling during assembly may be considered a sign of use or unauthorized tampering for purposes of the legal warranty and the right of withdrawal.
